Up your Party Game with Nature’s Own

0

Wanna win at party hosting? Start by stocking your bar with the right stuff, Sheila.

Nature’s Own have some kick-ass new cream liqueurs out just in time for party season:

  • CuppnChino Red Velvet  Coffee & Vanilla in bright red liqueur base
  • Django’s Mango & Tequila

These two rainbow beauties join the existing crop of cream liqueurs from Nature’s Own:  iNCA Caramel Gold liqueur, Cookies&Crazy and Marshmallow Pop!

Django’s is like bottled sunshine – a cream liqueur bursting with tangy mango freshness, rounded with a touch of tequila. Bright and colourful, a bottle of Django’s looks good in any bar. Enjoy chilled, as shooters, long drinks or use as a cocktail ingredient with outrageous garnishes!  Splash over ice cream and to flavour your favourite cheesecake.

CuppnChino Red Velvet is an evolution of the popular CuppnChino and has a rich aroma of freshly ground coffee with creamy vanilla. It’s scarlet red, for making dramatic statement martinis, or simply chilled on crushed ice. Luscious and moreish enough to use in baked puddings or over ice cream.

Why not splash out and get the whole collection?

  • Cookies & Crazy – decadently smooth, the flavour of cookies and creamy chocolate
  • iNCA Caramel Gold caramel, sweet coconut and vanilla

Natures Own Liqueurs are made in Bonnievale, a Cape village in the heart of South Africa’s dairy region. This is the source of the goodness that goes into every liqueur. For the cream liqueurs, fresh cream is received within 24 hours of the liqueur being made, then blended with premium distilled spirits and high quality ingredients to produce each delicious starburst-in-a-bottle.

Natures Own Liqueurs are enjoyed the world over – across Southern Africa, Paraguay, Mauritius, Brazil, New Zealand, the Netherlands and the USA.

In South Africa, they’re available at most liquor retail outlets countrywide. Marshmallow Pop!, Cookies&Crazy, Django’s and CuppnChino Red Velvet sell for around R125/bottle. iNCA Caramel Gold liqueur sells for around R160/bottle.

Whenever I’m asked to recommend the ultimate all-in Cape Winelands experience, Anthonij Rupert Wine Estate is top of my list. Yeah, I’m a fan. Big time.

There’s so much to see, do, sip and taste, you must make a day of it to appreciate the full splendour.

Drink in the fresh country air, sip some of the huge range of superb wines, feast on delicious food and admire the unforgettable fleet of modern and vintage cars at the Motor Museum. (All they need is a little boutique hotel to make it even more perfect, IMHO, but one day I might just camp out there haha!)

To make the most of this unique and memorable visitors’ experience, purchase an ‘all in one’ Anthonij Rupert Wyne Estate Package voucher. It’s guaranteed to keep you entertained for the entire day! For a mere R495 per person, you’ll be treated to:

  • Wine tasting at the Terra del Capo Tasting Room
  • An Antipasti selection lunch (the menu changes seasonally);
  • A Premium tutored wine tasting at the Anthonij Rupert Tasting Room;
  • A visit to the Franschhoek Motor Museum with its display of 80 vintage cars;

From here, your tour begins and the voucher is simply handed in at each point. With the estate’s tram service operating between points (on the hour), visitors can spend as much time at each guest facility as they wish before moving on to the next point, thus catering both to travellers at leisure as well as those with a schedule to keep.

Guests are advised to allow a minimum of four hours for the total package in order to make the most of their visitors’  experience.

The ARW Estate Package is ideal for tour groups, company incentive groups, team building outings, treating someone to a special outing or simply a day out in Franschhoek with a group of friends.

Visits to the estates are strictly by appointment only. To book a visit or for more information contact the farm on 021 874 9004 or email tasting@rupertwines.com.

img_2168

It’s time for heritage high jinks at GabriĂ«lskloof, as this wine and olive estate invites you to savour ubuntu spirit in true Overberg style, with its month-long offering of proudly South African treats. It all culminates with a Long Table Heritage Braai Feast on Sunday 24 September.

For the entire month of September, the Gabriëlskloof Tasting Lounge will showcase homegrown flavours with a truly unique Mzansi Tapas Taster, featuring familiar snack bites with a local twist all paired with four estate wines.

Think: Snoek ‘n Patat croquettes with amasi foam and chakalaka, Bobotie poppers, Tangy Pickled Fish Tacos and Biltong in Red Wine. (Yowzer that sounds good!)

Gabrielskloof’s Mzansi Tapas Taster will also be available as small plate starters, or as sides to a main meal at their restaurant during Heritage Month.

The month-long food and wine celebration will build up to a memorable braai feast on National Heritage Day (24 September). Set inside the winery complex, a single, continuous table of unity will line the shaded veranda that surrounds the lush courtyard – the day’s grassy theatre of braai, starring Executive Chef Frans Groenewald.

Here the family-friendly Long Table Heritage Braai Feast will put Chef Frans centre stage, as he applies his gourmet touch to the grill.

Expect braai heaven as seasonal fare is served up with genuine GabriĂ«lskloof hospitality – meat on the spit, snoek and mussels on the coals, garlic rolls, roosterkoek, pap-en-sous and of course, all the tasty trimmings that go with a good old South African braai. And, as tradition demands, such a fantastic meal would be incomplete without a delectable sweet note brought by beloved South African all-stars such as melktert and malva pudding.

“Gabrielskloof is proudly South African, which is why we’re excited to share our passion and pleasures with fellow South Africans around the fire as we celebrate our cultural heritage and diversity. We’ve laid on some brilliant food and wine for the occasion and have made it absolutely family friendly,” shares an all fired-up Frans.

“What better day than National Braai Day to revel in the ultimate South African pastime!”

Add to the occasion the foot-stomping tunes of local muso Gian Groen performing live at the event, the opportunity for young and old to frolic on the lawns, and any reason to stay away simply goes up in smoke!

This is the opportunity to savour impeccable estate wines, soak up country air and to make new friends through inimitable South African hospitality – over a plate of great food.

Reservations for the both the Mzansi Tapas Tasters and the Long Table Heritage Braai Feast are now open and booking is essential.

The details:
